Other Two Pages

Drinking, merriment, and girls about to kiss.  I figure the guys wake up after the ladies have a couple more drinks and talk about something important.  Then they go off to make a rocket and fly to the moon because it's made of cheese.  Okay, okay.  That's Wallace & Gromit, so I'll come up with something else.

I know a couple of guys who'd do the Crane Technique on barstools, but don't we all?

This bar is usually empty, so B will probably have to sell it soon after this story.

Stick With The Plan

Here is page 1 of 3 from the sketchbook for a comic that will have a lot of this and some of that.  I was laying out the three pages on some bond paper just now to clean up the presentation for this blog, but it's not looking any neater.  I should have redrawn it at the same size or slightly larger instead of a bit smaller.  Out of practice, I guess.

I like that there's a chubby guy lifting up his shirt to rile the bartender.  I can add that to the things-I've-drawn-for-the-first-time-in-my-life list.  I'll scan the other two pages & the ones on layout bond when I get back from a jog.  Looks cloudy and cold out there.

C'mon, Sketchbook.

Only a few more pages in this old one before it goes to the sketchbook grave in my closet.  A possible zombie girl plus a creature with funky hair (+ some digital additions).

More Varitey Soon

I can't help it; I've been having fun tweaking this book cover for Resonant Blue by CJ Marsicano.  Had to redo the coloring to make sure it was done properly in CMYK.  I used The DC Comics Guide to Coloring and Lettering which is a good primer on those topics.

I'll have to move quickly to keep things going here.  What will the next job be?  Not sure.  There's a project with a couple of friends, but I do have some things of my own to get to; they currently exist only as simple notes in my notebook & sketchbook.  I'll probably miss the ImageCon going on in Oakland this weekend to work on those and will do my best to do the drawing marathon at Merritt College on Sunday, something I haven't done in years.

Just Waiting For Approval

Before I head out into a beautiful California day for a jog, I'll post this crop of the finished book cover, now with a decal on the guitar.  Will that be a copyright issue?  I should know these things by now, but I do not.

Book Cover Almost Done

I'll get a good night's sleep, so I can look at this project with a fresh perspective.  I need to find some new fonts and also work on some hand lettering again.
